Alex Bulan is a nationally certified physician associate (PA) with 15+ years of extensive background in managing various neuromusculoskeletal conditions, diseases, and injuries.  He provides first-class, compassionate care while providing specialized non-surgical and non-opioid alternatives in the management of pain and neuropathy.  As a physically active individual, one of his main goals is to assist his patients in regaining their quality of life.

His passion for medicine started when he joined the US Navy in 1994 at the age of 17.  He served as a Hospital Corpsman until his commissioning as a naval officer in 2008.  The rest of his naval career was served as a PA until he retired in 2021 after 27+ years of faithful service.  He was stationed around the world to include Cuba, Guam, Italy, and Japan.  He also deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom II in 2004 and Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in 2009.

He attended the US Navy basic training in Great Lakes, Illinois, and attended various schools and training until achieving his graduate degree. He completed Bachelors in Health Science and Masters in Physician Assistant Studies at the Interservice Physician Assistant Program in Fort Sam Houston, San Antonio, Texas in 2008.  He completed a one year fellowship program for PAs in orthopedic surgery at the Bone and Joint Institute of Naval Medical Center Portsmouth in Virginia in 2013.  He is also certified by the American College of Physical Medicine in the management of neuropathy in 2023.

He is an active member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, Naval Association of Physician Assistants, Texas Association of Physician Assistants, American Society of Regenerative Medicine, American College of Sports Medicine, and Western Neuropathy Association.

He truly loves spending time with his wife, and two children plus one on the way.  He enjoys swimming, biking, and running.  He and his family frequently go on race-cations to include marathons and Ironman races in the US, Europe, and Asia.  His other interests include reading, traveling, hiking, and stay-cationing.
